During our time in Seoul, South Korea, we dived deep into their skincare culture.

 

While sampling various skincare treatments and studying the ingredients used, it was clear that while they performed many of the techniques we use here, their massive distinction and success lay in the thoughtful fusion of traditional and modern ingredients.

 

In our K-GLOW Facial Treatment, we’ll be featuring a key traditional ingredient in the Korean skincare culture, Rice Enzymes, and a modern ingredient delivery system in Spicules. This powerful synergy, when professionally applied, delivers a natural exfoliating, skin-brightening hydrating treatment that embodies the best of both worlds. 

 

 

What are Rice Enzymes?

 

Rice-based enzymes are derived from fermented rice or rice bran and contain proteolytic (protein-digesting) and amylolytic (starch-digesting) enzymes. These enzymes help break down dead skin cells, sebum, and impurities without irritating the skin, making them suitable for all skin types. 

 

 

What are Spicules?

 

Spicules are natural, microscopic needle-like structures derived from freshwater sponges. They create micro-channels in the skin, promoting cell turnover and accelerating skin regeneration.

 

 

How would these ingredients be applied throughout the treatment?

 

During this treatment a multi-step, layering system approach will be emphasized to nature the skin’s natural microbiome.

 

 

-Cleansing and exfoliating: Rice-based enzymes rich in antioxidants, vitamins B, E, and amino acids, gently exfoliate, brighten, and hydrate the skin.
