From Sandals to Closed Shoes. 5 Footcare Tips

September 26, 2015

Your feet have been in the open air all summer. Now, with closed footwear like heels, narrow pointy shoes and “ballerina flats”, they are in a warm, dark area. So there is always the danger of picking up a fungus on the foot.

What do we suggest for home care in the fall?

  1. Moisturize:

Fall marks the end of humid weather. Furnaces start getting on producing much drier air. The skin on the feet, as elsewhere on the body, becomes drier and in need of extra moisturizing. Pamper your feet with daily use of Footlogix moisturizing products such as Daily Maintenance, Very Dry Skin formula or DD Cream Mousse.

  2. Stretch:

Don’t let the first step that you take every morning be painful for you. Stretch out your feet and ankles when you get up in the morning.

  3. Wear comfortable shoes:

Wear “fashion” shoes only when out, wear more comfortable shoes at home and wear “sensible” shoes for work. Closed heels – which can lead to blisters and calluses from friction. “Ballerina” flats with absolutely no support on the sole can lead to Plantar Fasciitis and fallen longitudinal arches.

  4. Protect your shoes and feet:

Use Footlogix Foot Deodorant spray in the morning, and spray your shoes with Footlogix Shoe Deodorant spray when you take them off.

  5. Avoid the flu:

Protect yourself from coughs and colds, get lots of sleep, get out into the sunlight whenever possible to get extra Vitamin D and get lots of Vitamin C.
